| Official Visitation in Papua New Guinea |

|
From 20 to 30 April 2009 Fr. Gilberto Orsolin and Fr. Janusz Luczak visited the Pallottine mission in Papua New Guinea. The first two Pallottines arrived on this remote island almost 20 years ago having as main task to help the young Church Local. In fact, the first missionaries arrived only in 1896. Currently the mission entrusted to the Polish Province of the Annunciation (PN), is concentrated in the Diocese of Wewak, and the pastoral care of six parishes that are located on islands in the tropical forest and the town of Wewak. The six confreres, five priests and a brother, face the difficulties involved in missionary work with great dedication and Pallottine spirit. Suffice it to say that to reach the most remote islands, it takes 7-8 hours of journey on the boat into the ocean, or to reach the missionary station in the forest are needed nearly 5 hours of walking.
