The Finance Commission of the Society |

The Finance Commission of the Society had its meeting in Rome from 23-27 October 2007. The General Council had decided that this year the Bursars of the Provinces/Regions of South America would participate in this meeting in order that we may have, on the one hand, a better knowledge of the South American economic reality, and on other hand, they may gain a global vision of the economic situation of the Society. Other than the members of the Finance Commission - Fr. G. Dwyer, the General Bursar, Fr. P. Jankowski (PN), Fr. S. Hutt (FB), Fr. R. Groth (SM) and Fr. J. Kelly (IR) - Fr. A. Asselborn (AR), Fr. E. Varela (UR), Fr. R. Picolotto (SP) and Fr. K. Sopicki (RJ) too participated in this meeting. Beside the examination of the financial statements of the Provinces/Regions, the Commission also discussed the motion of the last General Assembly on financial control at all levels and the recommendation regarding the eventual constitution of the solidarity fund. It also deliberated on the present system of contribution to the Generalate.
