The Process of Beatification of our confrere Richard Henkes has taken a further significant step forward. The Vatican Congregation for the Causes of Saints, during the Congress of 13 March 2009, recognized the diocesan inquiry, held in the diocese of Limburg in Germany and has issued the decree of its validity. With this act, the process enters the apostolic level of the Holy See. Now we expect from the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, the appointment of a Supervisor, under whose guidance we will write the Positio on the martyrdom. We recall that Richard Henkes (1900-1945) pronounced the First Consecration in the Province of the "Most Holy Trinity" in 1921 and was ordained priest in 1925. During the Second World War, proclaiming the Word of God without fear, he was recognized by the Nazis as their enemy, and on April 7, 1943 he was arrested and imprisoned in the concentration camp at Dachau. During an epidemic of typhus, he offered himself as volunteer for the care of the sick, and died of the same illness on 22 February 1945.
