After the Continental meetings that took place in Africa (March 2011), Europe (May 2011), Asia-Oceania and North America (July 2011) the South American continental meeting was held on 9th-10th August at the Provincial House of St Paul the Apostle Province in Sao Paulo in Brazil. The major superiors present were: Frs Alessandro Fontana (Ur), Lino Baggio (SM), Jose Elias Fadul (SP), Ruben Fuhr (Ar), Jarosław Chmielecki (RJ) Thomas O'Donnell (IR.AR) and Gilberto Orsolin who represented the General Regime.
The principal themes were the sharing of life in the Pallottine entities, the collaboration between the South American entities, the study of the general norms for the Continental Meetings of the Major Superiors (2nd Decree of the 20th General Assembly), the celebration of the 50th anniversary of Pallotti's canonisation, some themes concerning common formation e.g. the name of the South American common Novitiate at Cornelio Procopio (PR) in Brazil or the preparation of new Formators, the Argentine Pallottine martyrs (4th July 1976) and the growth of the Pallottine charism in South America.
The meeting took place in a fraternal atmosphere with a good participation of the Major Superiors in a spirit of collaboration. Some motions and proposals emerged for a good future together.
