The Episcopal Ordination of Fr. Julio Endi Akamine will take place on July 9th 2011 in the Cathedral of São Paulo, Brazil. Fr. Akamine was appointed by the Holy Father as Titular Bishop of Tagamuta and Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of São Paulo.
We thank Fr. Julio for the innumerable tasks and services which he has carried out in our Society. His love for the Pallottine Family and his generosity and dedication towards others were characteristics which marked him as a Pallottine priest and which will undoubtedly continue to manifest themselves in him as a Bishop. We are convinced that his episcopal ordination is a gift for the Church and, albeit in a different manner, for our Society too.
The General Consultor, Fr. Gilberto Orsolin, will represent the General Council on the day of his ordination. Whoever would like to participate or to send a message can write to the S. Paulo Province which is organising the event:
