From October 24th-28th, the Provincial Assembly of the Austro-German Province was held in the major Seminary at Vallendar. The Rector and the delegates of the local communities took part along with the Regional Rector of Cameroon, the Provincial Delegates of Spain, Croatia and South Africa. In his annual report the Provincial Fr Hans-Peter Becker pointed out the main challenges for the forthcoming years and what responses one may need to give to the changes in the Province itself, in the Church or in German society. Moreover, the Provincial Council presented a concept for the apostolate of the Province as a starting point for a reflection and a more thorough discussion in the local communities. (Synodal process) M Manus represented the General Council. As always during the assembly there moments of fraternity and a trip to the island of Niederweth on the River Rhine, near Vallendar.

The Beatification Process of the Venerable Servant of God Elizabeth Sanna has recently completed further and significant progressive steps. On July 23rd past the Procurator General Fr Jan Korycki SAC delivered documentation to the Vatican Congregation for the Causes of the Saints. This was the Diocesan Inquest into the presumed miraculous healing of a young woman in Brazil received through the intercession of the Venerable. After this Cardinal Angelo Amato SDB, Prefect of the Congregation of the Causes of the Saints, has decided to present in 2012 the new position on the virtues of the Servant of God to the judgement of the Commission of Theological Consulters and then of the Cardinals and Bishops. It is worthwhile to record that this Position was already positively judged by the Historical Commission on April 22nd 1997. Without wishing to anticipate the final judgement of the Holy See, but with a great hope we look forward to the positive evaluation of the Commissions and then the Decree of the heroic nature of the virtues of the Venerable formulated by the Holy Father. Thus, we wait faithfully recognition of the healing as miraculous and the Beatification itself. For all this, it is necessary for the friends of the Venerable to continue to pray.

Fr. Mathew Thonickal SAC (NA) is appointed as the new Coordinator of the courses of Ongoing Formation conducted at the International Centre for Pallottine Formation at Via G.Ferrari 1 ("Cenacle"). Fr. Mathew has a great variety of experiences as Director of the Preparatory Formation, pastor, missionary, Rector of the Major Seminary, manager of educational institutes etc. Lately he was working as a formator in our new mission in Zambia. There are 19 participants, including Pallottine priests, brothers and sisters, doing the one year course on Pallottine formation at the "Cenacle". The summer courses for the year 2012 are under preparation. We wish every blessing of God to the new Coordinator for his important formative responsibility in service of the entire Pallottine Family.

From the month of September 2011, there are three new auxiliary members of the General Regime:

• Fr Josef Schwind (SP) - pastoral assistant in the Church of San Salvatore in Onda. Fr Josef is German and has lived the majority of his life in Brazil. His task is that of welcoming people that visit our Church of San Salvatore in Onda.
• Fr Ernesto Varela (UR), Uruguay - assistant to the General Archivist. Fr Ernesto works with Fr Norbert Hannappel in the difficult task of re-arranging our General archive. Fr Ernesto is also a member of the Local Community Council.
• Fr Norbert Sequiera (BA) India - assistant to the General Bursar. He supports the General Bursar Fr Gerald Dwyer in the innumerable economic issues.
• In addition, Fr Rory Hanly (IR) is part of the local community of the Generalate this year and as you already know, is Secretary General of the UAC.
