Meeting of the three General Councils Print

Incontro dei tre Consigli Generali

As it has already become a practice, the General Councils of the three Core Communities of the Union of Catholic Apostolate - the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, the Congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate and the Congregation of the Missionary Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate - met together on 5 November 2009 in the Generalate House of the Pallottine Fathers and Brothers.
This meeting continued to examine the themes of the previous meeting such as, for example, the role of the Preamble in our Constitutions/Law and reflected upon future projects.
A special moment was the celebration of the Holy Mass at the altar of St. Vincent Pallotti during which the participants thanked God for the 25 years of the presence of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate in India. The next meeting is scheduled for 12 June 2010 in the Generalate House of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate.

Holy Eucharist of thanksgiving for the UAC Print
As per the tradition, the representatives of the Union of Catholic Apostolate gathered together this year on 31 October 2009, at the vigil of the Solemnity of All Saints, in the Church of the Holy Spirito dei Napolitani, Via Giulia, Rome, in order to celebrate the Holy Eucharist of thanksgiving to the Lord, for the erection of the Union of Catholic Apostolate as a public ecclesial association of all the faithful and the approval of its General Statute by the Pontifical Council for the Laity. The holy Mass was presided over by Fr. Zenon Hanas, Vicar General of the Society of the Catholic Apostolate.
The liturgical celebrations directed the participants to the central theme of the feast, namely, the call to holiness, about which the main celebrant spoke during his homily. Also three members of the Union of diverse vocations- a priest, a religious sister and a lay person - shared their own experiences on this theme. Through the common prayer of the Apostolic Commitment in the Union, the Pallottine priests , brothers, sisters and lay people, expressed their readiness to place themselves in complete service of the Kingdom of God and the mission of the Catholic Church according to the Pallottine charism. At the end, with the Marian hymn of “Salve Regina”, the participants prayed for the protection and guidance of Mary, Queen of Apostles, of our holy Founder and all the saints for their apostolic endeavours.
