1. Fourth anniversary of the erection of the UAC

14 November 2003 – The president of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, Mons. Stanisław Ryłko, presenting  Fr. Séamus Freeman, SAC, with the Decree of the erection of the UAC   On the 28th of October we celebrated the fourth anniversary of the erection of the Union of Catholic Apostolate as an International Association of the Faithful in the Church. We prepared for this celebration with hearts full of joy, of gratitude and thankfulness for the grace of God which has been given to us with this Ecclesiastical approval. The communities and members of the Union in Rome and in the surrounding area gathered on Saturday October 27th at 16.00 in the Church of Santo Spirito dei Napoletani in Via Giulia, Rome, where the beginnings of this work of God first took root, in order to give thanks to God in a celebration of prayer followed by a concelebrated Eucharist in which your intentions were presented to the Lord.

2. The fourth meeting of studies of the Inst of St. V. Pallotti

The fourth meeting of studies organised by the Institute of St.Vincent Pallotti on the booklet "God the Infinite Love" was held on 11 October 2007 in the church of SS. Salvatore in Onda. The participants followed with great attention the reflections given by Archbishop Paul Josef Cordes (who was raised to the dignity of Cardinal a few days later) on the theme "The Encyclical  Letter Deus caritas est and St.Vincent Pallotti". The Speaker began with his reflections on the history of the composition of the Encyclical Letter and underlined that it has created great interest in the whole world. Pope Benedict XIV wanted to offer a contribution for the right understanding of the word "love" and gives it a strong theological foundation. The focus on God will enlarge our horizon and will enable us to perceive God with new and specific elements, that a baptised person will never be able to renounce. Subsequently he pointed out that St.Vincent Pallotti wanted to affirm decisively in his booklet "God the Infinite Love" that the most important thing is that "God is Infinite Love". The apostle of Rome, Vincent Pallotti, was convinced that the theological indications without a foundation were indeed fragile. Therefore he strived to discover a unshakable ground to sustain it and hence he affirmed with conviction that the very being and every action of the human person should be anchored in God. This is a solid foundation, which will empower the lives of the Christians to confront all the tempests. At the end the Speaker demonstrated that Pallotti's thoughts were similar to those of the present Pope. This can be seen in the Encyclical  Letter Deus caritas est, which is primarily concerned about the question of God. Both of these texts will enlarge our vision of the One and Triune God and will give our faith journey the necessary inspirations to transcend this world.
