2. Pallottine Fathers in Zambia

The Pallottine Fathers in Zambia from the Province of the Epiphany of the Lord (NA) celebrated the Feast of St. Vincent Pallotti on January 12, 2008 for the first time. The presence of Rev. Fr. Mathew Panakal SAC, the former Provincial, made the first Pallotti Day celebration in Zambia a memorable one. Rev. Fr. Oliver Mukunda, the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Lusaka, presided over the Holy Mass. In the introduction he appreciated the presence of the Pallottine Fathers in the Archdiocese. He said that the charism and the apostolate of St. Vincent Pallotti brought to the diocese through the Pallottine Fathers would be certainly a source of blessing for the people of Lusaka. �

3. Pallottines in Indonesia

We received a letter from a Missionary belonging to the Oblates of Mary Immaculate informing that a church dedicated to St. Vincent Pallotti was blessed in Jakarta, Indonesia, where the Pallottines are not present until now.

4. Pallottini in Nigeria

Peter Hillen, membro della Delegatura Camerunese della Provincia tedesca allora della Santissima Trinit�, ha iniziato ufficialmente il lavoro in Nigeria, precisamente nella diocesi di Awka. Tra poco sar� raggiunto da D. Gasprat Anaba. Gli auguriamo un lavoro fruttuoso al servizio della Chiesa Locale e nella diffusione del nostro carisma in un altro paese dell’Africa.

5. Handing-over of the Canadian Delegature

The official ceremony of the handing-over of the Canadian Delegature, belonging to the Sacred Heart Province (CJ) of the German/Austrian Pallottines, to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Province, Bangalore-India, took place on 3rd December 2009 in Edmonton. Further, the Provincial Rector of the Province of Bangalore Fr. Suasayan Sathyanesan, Fr. Norbert Possman, representing the Austrian / German Province, numerous guests, many representatives of the Pallottine family like, Mrs. Maria Domke, the President of the National Coordination Council of the UAC in Canada, Fr. Aleksander Mazur, the Delegate from the Province of Christ the King (WA) in Eastern Canada, and Fr. Bruce Schute, the representative of the Province “Mother of God” (MD) were also present for the occasion. The presence of the Archbishop Emeritus of Edmonton Msgr. Joseph MacNeil, was a great sign of appreciation of the Pallottines and their works. The new Delegature of the Indian Bangalore Province, having twelve members - seven Indians and five Germans - will continue and develop the Pallottine presence in Western Canada. Fr. Christudhas Gnanaprakasam was nominated as the new Delegate Superior of the Delegature.

6. Pilgrimage to Rome of a group of Polish Pallottine priests

On their 25th year of Ordination on May 10th 1986 a group of Polish Pallottine priests coming from various countries made a pilgrimage to Rome in the month of September 2011. The programme of their stay was composed of personal and communal, spiritual and cultural events: a day on Pallotti under the direction of Fr Jan Kupka, a trip to Frascati, a Holy Mass above the mortal remains of Saint Vincent Pallotti, with the Rector General Fr Jacob Nampudakam and a festive lunch at the Generalate. According to the accounts of the participants this extraordinary brotherly meeting has reinforced all in their Pallottine vocation and in their following of Christ.

7. Interprovincial Preparatory Formation, Brazil

On 15 January 2010 at Cornelio Procopio (Brazil) was initiated the interprovincial and international Preparatory Formation and has six candidates for this year: 3 from St. Paul Province (SP), 2 from Santa Maria Province (SM) and 1 from St. Vincent Pallotti Region (UR). The celebration of admission to the Canonical Year was presided over by Provincial Rector, Fr. Julio Akamine (SP) and was concelebrated by the following confreres: Fr. Valdeci de Almeida (SP), Fr. Fernando Rossini (SP), Fr. Edgar Ertl (SM), Fr. Egídio Trevisan (SM) and Fr. Margarito Valiente (UR).

8. Inauguration of an International Pallottine Novitiate

On 5 May 2009, a historical event took place for the Pallottine family at the St. Vincent Pallotti Novitiate House of the Italian Province of the Queen of Apostles, at Grottaferrata, Rome, with the inauguration of an International Pallottine Novitiate programme. This initiative is a response to the challenge of giving a common Pallottine formation to the small number of novices in the Pallottine entities of Western Europe, USA and Australia, in the true Pallottine spirit of cooperation. This new experience, to begin with, will be limited to the two months of May and June this year. Presently there are 2 novices from the Italian Province of Queen of Apostles, 2 from the Irish Province of Mother of Divine Love, 1 from the German - Austrian Province of the Sacred Heart, and 1 from the Congregation of the Sisters of the Catholic Apostolate. The formation will be under the guidance of the team of Novice Masters - Fr. Andrea Fulco (Italy), Fr. Jochen Ruiner (Germany), Fr. Michael Irwin (Ireland) and the Novice Mistress Sr. Daniela Sinescalchi (Italy) in collaboration with the SAC General Secretariat for Formation. The novitiate was formally inaugurated with a solemn Eucharistic celebration on 4 May 2009, at which Fr. Antonio Lotti, the Provincial Rector of the Italian Province, was the main celebrant and in the presence of the Superior General Sr. Serena Cambiaghi, the Provincial Superior Sr. Sara Carfagna, the UAC President Fr. Derry Murphy, and Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, General Consultor and the General Secretary for Formation,. May our holy Founder St. Vincent Pallotti bless and accompany this humble effort!

9. Common Period of Preparatory Formation in South America

January 10th 2011 will be remembered as an important day for the Society of the Catholic Apostolate, in particular for the Provinces of "Santa Maria" (SM, Brazil) and St. Paul Apostle (SP, Brazil) and for the Regions of "Our Lady of Lujan" (AR, Argentina), St. Vincent Pallotti (UR, Uruguay) and "Mother of Mercy" (RJ, Brazil). On this day, in the Community of "Queen of Peace" in Cornélio Procópio, the common South American Period� of Preparatory Formation with the request for admission and acceptance of fifteen candidates: ten from the Province of Santa Maria, two from the Region of Rio de Janeiro, one from the Argentinean Region, one from the Uruguayan Region and one from the Province of Sao Paolo. The institution of the common period of Preparatory Formation in South America responds to the request of the General Council to widen collaboration between the Provinces/Regions in South America. In order to promote it right from the beginning, nothing is more appropriate than starting with this phase of formation which aims, as its name suggests, at introducing candidates to the Society of the Catholic Apostolate and its charism, spirituality, pastoral work and way of life. 10. International novitiate

The second international novitiate experience was successfully concluded on 14th June 2011 with the Holy Eucharistic celebration in our church of SS. Salvatore in Onda, presided over by Rector General, Fr. Jacob Nampudakam. The participants included 4 novices from the Mother of Divine Love Province (IR), 3 novices from the Heart of Jesus Province (CJ), 1 novice from the Mother of God Province (MD) and 1 novice from the Pallottine Missionary Sisters in Germany. Sr. Daniela Siniscalchi the main Coordinator of this common experience was assisted by the Novice Masters Fr. Michael Irwin (IR), Fr. Jochen Ruiner (CJ) and Sr. Gertrud Meiser (Pallottine Missionary Sisters). As a whole, it was a very positive experience of Pallottine family spirit and collaboration. The six weeks of experience included daily classes on Pallottine materials, sharing, group dynamics, personal accompaniment, and regular spiritual exercises like Holy Mass, prayers, meditation and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Thanks are due to the organisers of this common programme of formation: Fr. Derry Murphy, the UAC President and the 3 persons responsible for formation from the Core Communities: Fr. François Harelimana SAC, Sr. Ignes Burin CSAC and Sr. Josephine D'Souza SAC.
