1. Liturgical Calendar proper for SAC

The Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacraments has recently approved a Liturgical Calendar proper for SAC, with the Solemnity of St. V. Pallotti on January 22; the memory of the Blessed Pallottine Martyrs J. Jankowski e J. Stanek on June 12, optional for the SAC and obligatory in Poland, and the Feast of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, on Saturday before the Pentecost. Such a consent is considered an important first step towards the approval of other new liturgical texts in the future.

2. SAC Calendar 2012

The SAC Calendar 2012 was sent to all the major Superiors. This contains the Feasts of our Society, i.e. the Patrons of all the entities and of our holy Founder, of the Blessed Martyrs and of our Patroness, Mary Queen of Apostles and the names of our deceased members of the last 25 years. The Rector General in the presentation of the Calendar notes that "each country and each Diocese has its own Liturgical calendar and may consider ours as something extra or irrelevant. It ought not to be so because we ought to remain in communion with the local and universal Church to create a 'Pallottine culture' in our way of living the Liturgy. Thus, the Feasts of the Society and the UAC together with the Patronal Feasts of the Provinces/ Regions become part of our spiritual and apostolic heritage. It is not only a duty to remember and pray for our deceased members but is also a sign of brotherly communion".

3. 75th birthday of Card. Walter Kasper

To mark the occasion of the 75th birthday of Card. Walter Kasper, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, and a friend of the Theology Faculty at Vallendar, a Symposium was organized there on April 12th. and 13th on the topic “How to think of God and give witness to Him today?” A group of about seventy persons, bishops and theologians, accepted the invitation to attend and the topic was debated together with three hundred guests. The participants were struck by the cordial atmosphere and the spirit of openness in our faculty.  Cardinal Kasper, in his address, stressed the great challenge facing Christians in proclaiming the God of the Bible, definitively revealed in Jesus Christ, to a world which considers all religions to be the same. The solemn Eucharistic celebration gave all the participants the opportunity to thank God for His infinite love and to ask for His blessing.

4. Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya

Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya, recently made Cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI, on January 22nd, 2011, solemnity of Saint Vincent Pallotti, has officially taken over the title of the Basilica dedicated to the Virgin Mary Queen of Peace, Ostia, Rome. During the solemn Eucharistic Concelebration the Cardinal presented the document of the title of this church given to him by the Holy Father to the parish priest, our confrere Fr. Ludovico Barbangelo. �After reading it, the parish priest officially welcomed him in the name of the Christian community and in the name of the Pallottine Family which takes care of it. Many civil and religious authorities and many faithful were present. Representing the Pallottines were the Consultor General, Fr. François Harelimana and the Provincial Rector, Fr. Antonio Lotti. Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya,� Archbishop of Kinshasa from 2007 was made Cardinal on November 20th, 2010.

5. Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya

The Holy Father Benedict XVI has assigned to the new Cardinal Laurent Monsengwo Pasinya, Archbishop of Kinshasa (Dem. Rep. of Congo), as Titular Church the Basilica of Mary Queen of Peace in Ostia which has been under the pastoral care of the Pallottines of the Italian Province "Queen of Apostles" since 1926.

6. Provincialate of the Prov. of the Assumption of the BVM (BA)

On 4 December 2007, the new Provincialate House of the Province of the Assumption of the B.V.M (BA) was inaugurated by Fr. Wolfgang Dutzi, the Mission Secretary of the Sacred Heart Province (FB) and blessed by the Archbishop of Bangalore, Most Rev. Bernard Moras. The new address is: Assumption House Provincialate P.O. 7. SAC Catalogue 2009

The Catalogue SAC 2009 is printed and sent out to all the Major Superiors. In the new Catalogue, which has not undergone any major change in its form, you will find the latest structural changes that have occurred in the Society with the birth of the new Region of the "Most Holy Trinity" (Cameroon and Nigeria) in Africa and the constitution of the single German - Austrian Province of "Sacred Heart" in Europe. We look forward to your understanding in case of incorrect or incomplete information, and request you to communicate to us all errors and omissions.

8. Official SAC Documents (1968-2006)

The General Secretariat had sent out a CD with a collection of the official documents of the Society published during the last 40 years (1968-2006) and, especially, those dealing with our identity. The Rector General, in his letter of presentation, which is also inserted into the CD, clarifies the origin, the motive and the scope of this collection. All the documents, presented in various languages, are put into four categories: Chapters/General Assemblies, Identity of the SAC, Union of Catholic Apostolate and Other Documents.

9. Celebration of the solemnity of St. Vincent Pallotti

The Roman Pallottine community celebrated, as usual, the Triduum of St. Vincent Pallotti in conjunction with the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. The celebrations began on January 17th with a Mass to ask for the grace of the beatification of Venerable Elisabetta Sanna. This year members of the Brazilian College, Mons. Marco Gnavi, the person responsible for the Diocesan Office of “Ecumenism and Dialogue” and parish priest of Santa Maria in Trastevere, students and formators of the Pontifical Urban College of Propaganda Fide and very many members of the Union of Catholic Apostolate celebrated with us. Fr. Jacob Nampudakam, SAC, Rector General, presided over the Eucharistic celebration on January 22nd, emphasising in his homily the necessity of living out concretely and coherently our evangelical and Pallottine commitment. All of the communities and members of the UAC in Rome and the surrounding area participated in the daily programme of proposed events and celebrations with fervour and enthusiasm. PHOTO || VIDEO

10. Church of "Hergottsruh" in Friedberg

Seventy years ago, in 1937, the Provincial House of the "Sacred Heart" Province was transferred to a house close to the church of "Hergottsruh" in Friedberg. The church is a little jewel in baroque style and has a beautiful painting of Cosmas Damian Asam behind the altar. It was undergoing renovation during the last ten years and was visited by numerous pilgrims. At the conclusion of the works, on 30 March, a solemn Concelebrated Holy Mass, presided over by the Provincial Rector, Fr. Hans-Peter Becker, was celebrated.
