Jubilees in Rome Print
Between the end of May and the beginning of June 2009, the Generalate community had the joy of welcoming three groups of Polish Pallottine priests who celebrated diverse jubilees of their priesthood. The first group celebrated 30 years of their priesthood, the second 15 years and the last was a group of the newly-ordained priests. These confreres are either working or are preparing to work in Poland and the different countries in the Pallottine world. All arrived in Rome with the intention of following the footsteps of St. Vincent Pallotti, of celebrating the Holy Mass on his altar, and to offer, through the intercession of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, the joys, sufferings and concerns of their priestly service. In a special way, the newly-ordained priests of the two Polish Provinces shared with us their youthful enthusiasm. We wish that their experience at the altar of St. V. Pallotti, in the church of SS. Salvatore in Onda, may enable them to give a fervent testimony to the Pallottine charism, especially during this newly inaugurated Year of Priesthood.

Preparation of the XX General Assembly Print
From 8 to 12 June 2009, the General Administration held a "special session" exclusively dedicated to the preparation for the XX General Assembly 2010. This was the first phase in the organisation of the General Assembly and was specifically aimed at finalising the main theme, the related topics and their development; they also dealt twith he Agenda of the Assembly with special attention to the Methodus and the process of the election of the new Rector General and his collaborators.
The General Administration has chosen the house of the "Divine Master" in Ariccia (www.casadivinmaestro.it) for the next General Assembly. The structure of the house, its size, the numerous halls and chapels, and especially its location, provide the atmosphere of silence and concentration necessary for this event which is so important to our Society.

Third study meeting of the Pallotti Institute - 4 June 2009 Print
Fabian.jpgThe third study meeting in 2009 of the Pallotti Institute in Rome took place on Thursday June 4th 2009, the theme was "Biblical themes in the preaching of Pallotti." The speaker, Fr. Fabian Silveira, SAC, a member of the International College of Queen of Apostles, developed the topic given to him along three main lines. He started by recalling that, following on from the Synod of Bishops in 2008 on the Word of God, numerous initiates were undertaken to deepen appreciation of the Word of God in Christian life. Therefore, his presentation was in harmony with the Church's current priority, a way of sentire cum ecclesiae. St. Vincent Pallotti, Fr. Fabian affirmed, felt himself to be completely inserted into the life of the Church of the 19th century and followed the normal practice with regard to ordinary preaching, which was an explanation of the Gospel during Mass and Christian instruction, and also with regard to preaching on special occasions which was done during spiritual retreats, during the month of May and at novenas. The models for his preaching were Jesus Christ, St. John the Baptist and St. Paul. The Gospel formed the content of his preaching with a special emphasis on Jesus, his poverty, his humility, his hard work and the rejection he suffered. The dominant biblical theme in Fr. Vincent's preaching was the image of Jesus, the Good Shepherd. The biblical figure of the Good Shepherd strengthened his zeal to show the people of God the vast horizons of pastures and to offer them the healthy nourishment of Gospel truth. Pallotti's own preaching and his advice to preachers, especially his predilection for the figure of the Good Shepherd, are for all of us a source of inspiration and can illuminate our Pallottine pastoral commitment and encourage us to deepen our apostolic spirituality.

12 June - Blessed Fr. J. Jankowski and Fr. J. Stanek Print
in the Church of SS. Salvatore in Onda, the Spiritual Centre of the Union of Catholic Apostolate, we have placed the images of our first two Pallottine martyrs, Blessed Fr. J. Jankowski and Fr. J. Stanek. The two oil paintings, a gift from the Province of the "Annunciation of the Lord" were placed, one on the right and the other on the left of the Cenacle picture portraying the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Virgin Mary and the Apostles. We believe that the power of Pallottine charism has led two of our confreres to give themselves fully, including their very lives, to the Lord and the neighbours. Both of them can be truly considered apostles for today and are examples to follow for all members of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate, priests, brothers, sisters and lay people.
Beati martiri Pallottini J. Jankowski e J. Stanek

Information available: "Apostolato Universale" and Library Print
apostolato-universale-color.jpg The spreading of information in today's world is certainly made easier by new means of communication. Many people use internet web-sites to look for the information they need. In response to this requirement the Institute San Vincenzo Pallotti of Rome has prepared the information material to be added in the web-site of the Society of Catholic Apostolate. It is with pleasure and joy that we inform all the internauts that on the site they can find all the news on the activity of the Institute S. Vincenzo Pallotti and the sources necessary for research on St. Vincent Pallotti and pallottine history. During the last month we have included in the site all the contributions published on the magazine Universal Apostolate, starting with n. 1 up to n. 20. In this way internauts will have at their disposal an abundance of historical material for further elaboration and research on pallottine subjects.
Biblioteca_ISVP.jpgAt the same time we have also included the catalogue of books existing in the specialised library of Istituto Pallotti. The catalogue is arranged in alphabetical order by author and reports on each publication the necessary bibliographical information. We trust our service will find a positive response with internauts and will help them in their research and information on life and works of St. Vincent Pallotti.
